‘Juliet’ Dwarf Sour Cherry
$30.00Enjoy bountiful harvests of delicious fruits from an easy to reach, compact plant. White spring blossoms provide an attractive display, followed by clusters of dark red, sour-sweet fruit which ripen in late summer. During trials, Juliet was always first or close second in sweetness and ranked the best flavour for fresh eating directly from the tree when allowed to ripen. Great for processing and fresh eating. ‘Kalle’ Pear (OHxF87 Semi-dwarf)
A medium to large fruit that is round in shape with a slender neck. It ripens 10 days ahead of Bartlett. The fruit is flavorful and has a bright red skin. Also known as ‘Red Clapp’s’ as it is a mutation from ‘Clapp’s Favorite’.

‘Koralle’ Lingonberry

‘Korsor’ Elderberry
$20.00Korsor is a variety of black European elder notable for its large, dark, juicy berries. It grows to about 8 feet tall. Bred in Demark.
European black elderberries are the most sought-after and productive elder species because they have been selected for heavy yields and cold hardiness. The berries are renowned as a nutritive anti-viral and immune system tonic. If you buy elderberries or elderberry tincture in the store, you are most likely looking at a variety of European black elder, Sambucus nigra. Flowers can also be harvested!
This species is partly self-fertile, so doesn’t require cross-pollination, but the yields will be heavier with a second variety planted nearby. Elder shrubs prefer partial shade to full sun, with higher yields in more sun. It’s best to irrigate them in summer. Netting may be required to keep birds from destroying berry crop.
American elderberries (Sambucus canadensis) are native to the Midwest US and are more vigorous than black European elderberries (Sambucus nigra). Both are planted commercially for medicinal berries. Our Kootenay native blue elderberry (S. cerulea) also make wonderful medicine, and they are more drought tolerant than other varieties. Don’t accidentally mistake red elderberries (S. racemosa) for any of the edible and medicinal varieties – they are not safe to consume.

‘Leikora’ Sea Buckthorn [Female]
$18.00This female cultivar of Sea Buckthorn was selected for high yields, of large fruits rich in Vitamins A, C (about 7 times more than lemons) & E, antioxidants and omega 3 oils. Don’t just focus on the fruit though, the leaves can be dried and used for tea! This is a vigorous and attractive shrub that can grow 10-12 ft. in height if not pruned. Tolerant of alkaline and salty soil, and very cold hardy. Needs a male pollinizer for fruit set.
During the Cold War, East Germany used them as a healthful substitute for orange juice. The fruit is also unique for its oil content, which is used as a treatment for burns and skin diseases as well as for ulcers and other illnesses. You will often see Sea Buckthorn as an ingredient in many nutritional supplements and cosmetics. Sea Buckthorn berries can also be processed into fruit leather, purees and jams. Harvest out fruit by hand or by cutting off the fruit-laden branches and freezing them. The frozen berries can easily be shaken off and, after thawing, make great juice and preserves. Like cranberry juice, Sea Buckthorn juice is usually diluted with up to 70% water.

‘Martin’ Saskatoon
$16.00This variety was selected by Dieter Martin in Saskatchewan for exceptionally large and tasty fruit with improved ripening uniformity compared to its “Thiessen” parentage. The plant is vigorous but maintains a good upright form. One of the more compact saskatoons, Martin grows to be around 10ft tall and can spread out 13ft if not maintained. Fruit is suited for fresh eating and processing.

‘Razz’ Blueberry

‘Red Spy’ Apple

‘Reka’ Blueberry
$13.00High yielding blueberry for the Kootenays. Medium-sized fruits are dark blue and ripen around the same time as Duke. Excellent for fresh eating and processing. Plants are vigours and cold hardy.
Adaptable to a wide range of northern climates and soil types, Reka produces early-ripening, medium-sized berries with an exceptionally rich flavour and pleasing aroma. Surprisingly high yields and beautiful burgundy red fall colour on this 4 -6 ft. bush makes Reka a must-have for every blueberry lover. Dark blue fruits ripen about the same time as Duke, but the berries have better flavour. Developed in New Zealand, Reka is a Northern Highbush variety that grows best in temperate climates where total winter chilling is 1,000 hours or more. ‘Shineiki’ Asian Pear
Shinseiki is an early ripening fruit with bright yellow skin. Its delicate white flesh is sweet, flavourful and extremely juicy. Shinseiki trees are very precocious, sometimes bearing fruit on our one-year-old grafted trees. Customers in a hurry to taste Asian pears should plant this variety! ‘Sovereign Coronation’ Seedless Grape
$14.00 – $18.00Sovereign Coronation is developed at Summerland Research Station, here in BC. This midseason eating grape produces virtually seedless, blue-purple fruit with a sweet musky flavour. The fruit has a vibrant blue colour similar to Concord and is earlier than traditional varieties. ‘Sweet Thing’ Dwarf Sour Cherry
Sweet Thing produces some of the highest quality sour cherries that the University of Saskatchewan has seen. Comes from the linage of ‘Carmen Jewel’ and ‘Erdi Jubileum’, and may even contain heritage from Hungarian sweet cherry. Rick Sawatzky’s favourite for eating quality while using for research. ‘Tundra’ Haskap
Tundra’s fruit is firm and does not bleed from the stem end when removed from the plant, making this variety suitable for mechanical harvest. It possesses the desired fruit shape and size to appeal to the Japanese market and rated high in the flavour testing. Bushes tend to grow outward. Cross pollination is required. Compatible with Aurora, Boreal Blizzard and Honeybee.
This University of Saskatchewan introduction produces blueberry-like fruit that ripens as early as Strawberries. Also known as Honeyberries or Blue Honeysuckle, Canadian Haskap are superior to any other Honeyberries with sweeter, wild Blueberry flavour and larger, fleshier fruit not unlike oversize Blueberries. ‘Vanessa’ Seedless Grape
$12.00 – $18.00Developed by the Horticultural Research Institute of Ontario, Vanessa is a red dessert grape of excellent quality. The vine is moderately vigorous and among the hardiest of seedless grapes. The seed remnant is usually large and soft; when noticeable it is sometimes a cause for limited marketability. Berries are medium in size on medium, well-filled clusters. Storage potential is good. The flavour is mild and fruity, and the berry texture is firm. The fruit quality is among the best of the red seedless types.
According to the University of Minnesota, the characteristic that separates the “Vanessa” from other seedless grape varieties is its crisp texture. Bruce Reisch, a professor in the Department of Horticultural Sciences at Cornell University in New York (USA), who specializes in viticulture, said fruit quality makes it one of the best table grapes among the seedless red grape varieties.

Black Jostaberry
$20.00A gooseberry and currant cross! The rich berry taste is reminiscent of gooseberry with a kiss of black currant. Deep-red, almost-black fruit is high in vitamin C and forms in large clusters, ideal for juices, jams and jellies, and fresh-eating. Cold-hardy plants are long-lived, thornless, and productive once established. Debuted in 1977. The name “jostaberry” itself is a combination of the German word for blackcurrant, “Johannisbeere” and for gooseberry, “Stachelbeere”.
