Many people find it difficult to access amazing food and to know how it was grown. It has been too easy to lose touch with our local food systems for far too long, but we have a plan.
Our NEW CSA CARD opens up opportunities for people looking for something different than a traditional CSA. Load your card with a balance and spend it at market on the veggies you want. Your pre-payment helps to support the farm before the season with seeds and other supplies, and to thank you we add extra credit to your account! Our goal is to create a community supporting the choice for sustainable, local and nutrient-dense food. I look forward to helping you to eat better and live a healthier life. Doubt it? Unfortunately, your card is NOT redeemable for Thyme Saver CSA Memberships, Farm Club Memberships, spring Vegetable Starts or Nursery Plants. We do offer GIFT CARDS that are redeemable for all Linden Lane Farm products.

Quality: You get to choose from our amazing selection of vegetables and small fruits available at market each week. We have invested heavily to upgrade our post-harvest area to ensure we meet food-safety regulations.
Flexibility: Pick your own selection of veggies whenever you make it to market. No commitment to box pickups and your own choice of veggies!
Convenience: Members will receive a physical card associated to your credit. Swipe your card at market to pay for your veggies in a flash, no need to go searching for cash. Your account will also be accessible via an account number for times when you forget your card at market.
Community: Connect with other members through our private Facebook Group as well as special events. Share recipe ideas and interact with other members who share the same interest in local agriculture and food!
Save Money: For your support we will add 5% credit to your balance. Who doesn’t like free money for more Veggies!?
Events: Every year we offer a member’s exclusive tour to connect with your food. Learn where and how we grow the great items you eat each week.
CSA member’s increase their fruit and vegetable consumption. Scientific studies and our members can vouch for this theory! Your card makes it convenient to purchase the freshest, local produce, making you more likely to enjoy them in everyday meals.
This engrains a habit for healthy eating and we’ve found that families continue to consume healthier die even after the season is over! Be a part of our “veg-education”!! Join our public CSA Discussion Facebook Group to ask questions and interact with previous members and your farmer on everything CSA.
You are making a pledge to support the farm. By becoming a member you share the risks and challenges that constantly exist when growing food. You understand that quantities and timing of harvest may be affected by adverse weather conditions or events.
Participate in our online community! Together we have the ability to overcome problems that are difficult when faced alone. Share recipes, plan carpooling or box pickups and create connections using our private Members Only Facebook Group. Never seen that veggie before or don’t know how to cook it; ask! Physically participating is important too! We will be sharing details on upcoming events for our farm and local agriculture community and always love the support and turn out.
It is your responsibility to make purchases with your card at markets for vegetables and small fruits. Use your physical card whenever possible, however, we can access your account using an account reference number. Your card balance for the particular year will EXPIRE Dec. 31st of that year. There are a limited number of cards are available for purchase from December 1st until February 1st.
We will grow food that is free from synthetic chemicals, nutritionally dense, and safe to eat. Linden Lane Farms adheres to BC and Canadian National Organic standards, using organic, sustainable and traditional methods to plant, cultivate, and harvest food; and to control disease and insects. To ensure your commitment to food safety, Linden Lane Farms is working towards becoming the first Canada Gap certified produce packing facility in the Central Kootenays.
We will also do our best to make it to market regardless of weather except at the market manager’s discretion.

COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE
CSA programs were created for the mutual commitment between a farm and a community of supporters. It links people directly with their source of food, providing them with the freshest, sustainable products while giving farmers a source of income at their time of highest expense (early spring). CSA members also receive special insight into the farm, events and sales from their farm.
Can I choose what I want?
You can use your card for any vegetables and small fruits available at market!
Unfortunately you cannot redeem credit for Thyme Saver CSA Boxes, Farm Club Memberships, Plants or Merchandise.
Can I pre-order veggies for pickup at market?
Unfortunately, we do not have the infrastructure and administrative power to manage a pre-order service just yet. Look for this in the future!
What size do you recommend?
It is completely up to you and the number of markets you attend. To put it in perspective, if you typically purchase a bag of salad mix from us at every market, you would be looking at the $250 credit for a season.
What happens when I run out of credit?
If ou use all your credit in a season, you can:
- Add more credit by contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Return your card for safe keeping before next season
- Return if you do not plan on renewing for another season (…unlikely)
How do I sign up?
We have switched to online sign-ups! Please follow the instructions on the FARM SHOP page and checkout. We will email you with a confirmation of your membership after payment.
How do I pay?
Full Payment must be received before February 1st for 5% bonus credit. Full payments after this date will be subject to program availability and do not receive the bonus credits. We now offer an Installment Payment Plan: three partial payments due on February 1st, March 1st and April 1st, for the total cost of membership! We currently accept Cash, Cheque, or Email Money Transfer.
CASH: All cash payments must be done in person.
CHEQUES: Cheques must be signed to “Linden Lane Farms” and can be mailed to 4163 View Ridge Road, Bonnington, BC V0G-2G3. Please let us know if you are mailing in your payment.
EMT: Email money transfers must be made to “email@example.com”. Please send a separate email regarding your password for the transfer.
CREDIT CARD: We are able to securely process all major credit cards. All CSA credit card purchases will be subject to a service charge ($5 for $250, $10 for $500 and $20 for $1000) to balance additional cost with offering the credit card service. We will only accept credit card information from the website and by phone.
Do you offer mid-season refunds.
In the CSA model, members are seen as active farm partners, sharing the risks and rewards of the harvest. Should you choose to cancel your card, we cannot offer a refund for shares already paid for once the season has started in May. The CSA partnership sustains our farm, individual members, and the community at large. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding our refund policy.
What do I do with my card at the end of the season?
Your card can be re-used! You can add a new balanced to for the next season or return it to us if you do not plan to renew.
When does my credit become available?
Credit purchased prior to the season start will become available January 31st however we do not attend markets until May. For example, a CSA card pruchased in December of 2019 will not be available until January 31st, 2020.
When do I receive my card?
Your credit will become available January 31st, however we are not at market until May-June. We will have your physical card available for pickup during the first month of markets.
Does my credit expire?
Your credit balance on your card expires December 31st of that current season and will not be carried forward to the next year. It is your responsibility to use up your credit balance before the end of the season.
Where can I use my card?
You can use your card for vegetables and small fruits at any of our markets in Nelson on Wednesdays and Saturdays from June until October. You can also use your card in the fall at our on-farm events!
Can I use my card at the farm?
Unfortunately we do not yet offer a Farm Stand regularly at the farm. In the future we hope to add this to help feed our great friends and neighbours. In October we offer Fall Farm events in Krestova to stock up for winter.
What happens if I forget my card on market day?
Luckily we can access account details using your account reference number to process orders when you do not have your physical card. We would prefer you use the physical card as it saves time at market, helping us to reduce our lineup at the till.
What happens if I lose my physical card?
If you lose your card, we can still access your account balance for purchases. If you would like a replacement physical card (recommended) we will charge a $5 replacement fee against your account balance. This $5 fee will also pertain to yearly renewals if a replacement card is needed between seasons.
How do I gift a Market Card CSA?
Please email us the details and we can setup an account on the behalf of the purchaser! Veggies are a wonderful gift!
