One of the oldest and first good yielding cultivars, a majority of the commercial saskatoon orchards were based on this cultivar until Northline and other cultivars were introduced. Slightly smaller fruit size with a milder taste with lower acidity. Blooms later than other cultivars thereby potentially avoid spring frost damage.

Special Considerations: Saskatoon’s are known to sucker. It is important to utilize this for regenerative pruning however be cautious of planting sites. Grass walkways and tillage are good ways to maintain sucker development within rows. Saskatoons are prone to a range of diseases that can hinder fruit production if not managed properly. Saskatoons are self-fruitful and do not require cross-pollination.

What sets us apart from most nurseries, aside from our production growing experience with our products, is that we help you plan well in advance of the growing season by offering to reserve your plants for pickup or delivery in the spring! As a part of our Spring Plant Reservation program, you have the option to purchase in full or place a deposit on your order and pay the balance at pickup. Our SPR program has helped hundreds of customers secure their gardening desires since 2013!

RESERVATION:

We require a 50% minimum deposit to reserve your order. Orders may also be paid in full to reserve. Any outstanding balance is due at pick up or before shipping or delivery.

Orders will be reserved once a deposit or full payment has been received. Deposits (50% of order value) cannot be refunded after March 31st

Payment can be made by cheque, gift card, email money transfer or credit card. Please follow the instructions on your invoice.

To make your experience even faster and easier at pickup we ask that orders be paid in full by April 22. For mail orders, the deadline for final payment is April 8. You will receive a friendly email reminder of your upcoming payment before these deadlines.

ORDERING:

We strongly recommend ordering before April to secure your order. Orders are dependent on available inventory. Some stock may have limited available quantities. We reserve the right to offer a substitution or refund if stock becomes unavailable. 

Some items are available to be purchased in bulk quantities. Please contact us for bulk orders.

Looking for something in particular that we don’t offer on the website? We are able to source different product sizes and cultivars for special orders.

Bushes are strong, upright growers and show no signs of mildew. Very productive! Almost all large-fruited haskap cause branches to bend over, but not ‘Boreal Beauty’, her branches remain strong and upright. Another member of the Boreal series that flowers and ripens later than previous UofS cultivars. Cross-pollination is required. Currently only compatible with Boreal Beast. New release in 2017! ContentSuper large beautiful black plum with amber flesh primarily used for puddings, pies and sauces. Good for eating fresh. Ripens mid-season. Requires pollination from other Japanese Plum (Prunus salicina) varieties. A University of California introduction in 1980. Grown on own roots. #7 pottedLarge oval purple fruit with greenish-yellow flesh that turns red when cooked. Good for canning and drying. Good commercial prune-plum. Ripens in 14 days earlier than Italian Plum. Partly self-fertile but better with pollination from other European Plums (Prunus domestica). 3/4"calliper bare-root or #7 pottedA must-have for any backyard orchard! Redhaven ripens early in the season and is usually freestone, although some years it can be a little "clingy". It has a wonderful red colour over a yellow background.
