‘Hall’s Hardy’ Almond

Grows anywhere peaches thrive! Pretty and productive. Large, hard-shell nuts give way to smaller bittersweet kernels. This attractive tree yields large crops of crunchy almonds in fall, and its lovely pink flowers make it a landscape standout in spring. Grows wherever peaches thrive. Matures to be 15–20′ tall, 10–15′ wide. Ripens in late September. Self-pollinating but should be crossed with a peach or nectarine.

CAUTION! The seed is classified as a bitter almond. The bitter taste comes from glycoside amygdalin, which is the precursor to hydrogen cyanide (prussic acid). Although the seeds contain relatively low amounts of glycoside amygdalin, it is recommended to boil or roast seeds to reduce potential risks since glycoside amygdalin is destroyed by high temperatures.

‘Redhaven’ Peach

$75.00

A must-have for any backyard orchard! Redhaven ripens early in the season and is usually freestone, although some years it can be a little “clingy”. It has a wonderful red colour over a yellow background. The flesh is yellow with a little red near the pit. It is juicy, sweet, and very tasty. The tree is one of the more hardy varieties, very productive, and has good resistance to bacterial spot. Excellent for canning and shipping fresh. Ripens in mid-August. Showy pink flowers in early spring. Glossy green foliage. Part of the Haven series introduced by Michigan State University.

Self-fertile. Does not require cross pollination.
